I have so desperately wanted time to sit and look through photos from the last two weeks, but I have had no extra time to do so. Even now as I type I am thinking, "What are you doing?!?!? GO TO SLEEP." But I want to stick to my goal of blogging the photos I have been taking of my delicious and challenging children. You might know the kind. ;)
Week 3 of 2014 we saw off Wesley and Jed as they started their journey to Thailand. Our out of town trips over lap, which means this is the longest Wesley and I have spent apart since 2002. Yikes! The weekend after they left my kiddos and I basically camped out at my parents house. We took advantage of photo ops there. Sleeping kids make the best photos. As do babies with man boobs and tummy rolls.
Odin was sick all of last week (week 4). My dad came to my rescue on one of the toughest days when one kid was hanging off my left boob while the other was suctioned to my shoulder with a "I need my Mommy" fever. A long moment of overwhelming stress followed abundant love. My Dad walked in to find all of us piled in the rocking chair. I was grateful he took a photo, even though it was late in the afternoon and I still had bedhead and was rocking pjs. True to my life now.
The day Odin seemed to be turning a corner he dressed himself for the first time. 45 minutes after I started my car to warm it up we were still in the house getting dressed. To give you a better idea of how long this operation took, a neighbor decided to knock on my door and ask if I knew my car was on. How does one respond to this? There were many things I wanted to say and didn't. :)
Lesson of the week: Don't lick your butt. Thanks for that Hank. Hank (our dog) got his teeth cleaned this week and apparently his asthmatic like cough was caused by licking his butt/annal glands. I know, yuck!
My favorite Odin quote. "Mom, that's weally, weally drainious." Translation: "Mom, that's really, really dangerous."
