Ella ~ The youngest Photo Divine Mafia Member to Date!

As you can tell by the clouds in the background of the first photo, our morning of shooting did not start out warm. As we made our way through the dewy plant life below Engineer Mountain the relationship between mother and daughter unfolded, and then the essence of our youngest (to date) Mafia Member Ella was revealed. A lesson here: Often when we are shooting there is discomfort, in this case the cold. After the hot summer we had been having I don't think any of us were ready to battle the cold of the morning. I hoped that this didn't take away from the experience for these two lovely ladies. I do think when an expectation of the way one thinks a photo shoot should go is not met, then one may have doubts of how their photos will turn out. I don't know if Renae and Ella had doubts about their shoot, but I was cold and worried they weren't fully enjoying their experience. However, I knew I was getting great stuff. I think the job of a photographer is much like that of a theater performer "the show must go on." Especially with outdoor photography. As a photographer you have to make the best out of what you are given for the day. Fortunately for us these photos are amazing, and even brought on the tears when they were first viewed by Renae. That, my friends, is the best compliment we can get!!!
