Melvina

Melvina's Aunt Glendor has frequented my studio often with a arm full of Katchina dolls for sale. The hand carved dolls are always colorful and intricate. I have purchased a few as gifts for family members in New Zealand. I like supporting fellow artists. When Glendora asked me about whether or not Melvina could wear her traditional native dress for her senior photos I was thrilled at the idea. Originally we had intended to do the entire shoot outdoors, but the weather had different plans for us. Since Melvina traveled over three hours for the photos we made good use of our studio time instead. Her eyes tell a thousand stories.
